Mildura Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged aggravated burglary in Mildura Wednesday.
It is believed the 25-year-old Mildura man allegedly broke into a property on the corner of Eleventh Street and Benetook Avenue, about 5am on Wednesday, 10 January.
Allegedly, the man then confronted the female resident and assaulted her.
The 50-year-old woman sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
The man has been charged with:
• aggravated burglary – intent to assault
• assault with intent to commit sexual assault
• burglary
• handle stolen goods x 4
• aggravated burglary person present x 3
• theft x 5
• theft from motor vehicle
• attempted theft from motor vehicle x 2
• indictable offence on bail x 9
• possess methylamphetamine.
