A local MP is calling for the Victorian Government to make its School Bonus Program fairer.
Under the plan, a four-hundred dollar bonus will be given to families at all government schools to help with costs including uniforms, camps and sporting events.
However member for Mildura Jade Benham says it’s unfair that only eligible families at non-government schools will also receive the relief from the cost of living crisis.
The Nationals are calling for the state government to reconsider the eligibility criteria, saying the current program is lazy and inequitable decision-making.
