Mildura MP Jade Benham is calling on the Victorian Mental Health Minister to head to Merbein to talk to locals about the proposed Alcohol and Other Drugs Rehabilitation Facility.

The Victorian Government announced the centre will be built on the old Merbein West Primary School site.

“There is no doubt that this facility is a positive development for Mildura and the surrounding regions,” said Ms Benham. “However, the community of Merbein has voiced concerns about the lack of consultation and the scarcity of information regarding key aspects of the project, including the facility’s appearance, security measures, and surrounding infrastructure.”
