NSW CWA Bush Bursary applications close today, 18 August 2025.
If you are a medical, nursing or midwifery student in NSW or ACT and want to experience life and work in rural communities, you may be eligible to receive up to $1,500 to support a student’s journey.
Through a unique two-week rural placement, you have the opportunity to travel to regional NSW, immerse yourself in country life & the local community, receive up to $1500 to go towards your meals, travel costs and other discretionary spending within the area and gain invaluable insight into what a rural health career could look like for you.
Member for Murray Helen Dalton says this is more than a placement, it’s a community-backed adventure, proudly funded by rural councils and the Country Women’s Association (CWA) of NSW, and administered by Rural Doctors Network.
Placements typically run from November to January, but are flexible based on individual uni schedules.
