Doctors in Victoria’s north-west who traditionally bulk bill may be forced to charge patients under a new GP tax.
That’s the warning from GPs, who say hospitals could face blowouts of more than 14-MILLION dollars from the Victorian tax.
Dr Peter Stratmann from the Primary Care Business Council says regional centres like Mildura don’t have the bonus of having more options like major cities do, and that doctors who traditionally bulk bill in regional centres will have no choice but to start charging patients.
