Big weekend in local football

A big crowd is expected at the Imperials football match this weekend, as the club supports one of its own.

Mick Hogarth is battling MND, but will be recognised tomorrow in the clash against Wentworth, with a lap of honour.

He’ll also toss the coin before the match.

There’ll also be an auction at the clubrooms on Sunday raising money for Mick and his family.

Meanwhile three other matches will be played in the second round of the Sunraysia Footy League 2024 season tomorrow.

Ouyen United’s taking on South Mildura, Merbein’s hosting Mildura and Red Cliffs is playing Irymple.

All matches will be played from half past two.

Also, Millewa Footy League action kicks off with a night fixture between Gol Gol and Cardross tonight.

The Hawks host the Lions under lights ahead of another Friday night match next week.
Round one’s other games see Werrimull take on Meringur and reigning premiers Bambill will take on Nangiloc.
