The General Manager of Balranald Shire Council, Mr Craig Bennett, has resigned after 18 months in the job.
The former Shire GM said in a statement shared on the Council’s Facebook page “It is with great sadness that I have made the difficult decision to resign as the General Manager of the Balranald Shire Council.”
“It has been an honour to serve the Balranald Shire Community over the past 18 months.”
“I wish to thank the community and the staff of the Balranald Shire Council for their encouragement and support during my time at Council.”
“I also wish to thank the Administrator for giving me this opportunity to serve as General Manager.”
In reply, Administrator, Mike Colreavy said “Craig has made his mark on the Balranald Shire especially through his interactions with the community and various local organisations.”
“Craig has also undertaken a very substantial workload as the General Manager.”
“I would like to acknowledge his efforts in making Council ready for the return of a democratically elected Council in September 2024 and his contribution towards bringing many capital projects to fruition.”
“Craig carries with him Council’s best wishes for his future endeavours.”
