Australia Post is rolling out citronella spray to every Postie nationwide as dangerous dogs continue to present serious safety risks to their team members.
On average more than 44 Posties a week have fallen victim to dog-related incidents, an average of nine per day.

- VIC recorded 138 incidents with Oakleigh South, Mooroolbark, Deepdene and Mornington the state’s hotspots.
- A total of 1,150 attacks have occurred in the last six months nationwide.
- Citronella spray has been rolled out as a last-resort measure for Posties to prevent an imminent attack.
- Every Postie will be equipped by the end of July.
- QLD (388), NSW (329), and WA (184), are the worst offending states.
