Armed robbery – Wentworth

Police are investigating an armed robbery in Wentworth on Friday afternoon.

About 4.35pm Friday 17 October 2025 officers from the Barrier Police District responded to reports of an armed robbery upon a financial institution in Darling Street, Wentworth.

Police were told that a man entered the business armed with a pole making threats towards staff and customers.

The man left the location with an amount of cash and was last seen running west along Adelaide Street.

There were no reports of anyone being injured.

Officers established a crime scene and an investigation into the incident commenced.

The man is being described as of thin build wearing a face covering, pink hooded puffer jacket, brown gloves and black pants.

A brief time later police located the jacket – believed to be worn by the man – in a laneway off Short Street. It has been seized for forensic examination.

Police are urging anyone with information about the matter or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage, to contact Dareton Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
