Mallee Family Care is delighted to announce that applications for scholarships through its philanthropic foundation, Chances for Children, are now open.
The Chances for Children foundation supports young people across the Mallee to pursue an education and chase their dreams, by providing financial assistance through an annual scholarship program.
Scholarships of up to $5,000 per year are available in three categories including:
• Tertiary Scholarships – for university, TAFE, and apprenticeship study support
• Non‑Tertiary Scholarships – for pursuits in music, sport, leadership, or arts at state level or beyond
• Keeping Kids in Secondary School Scholarships – for students in Years 11 and 12
Mallee Family Care CEO Teresa Jayet said Chances for Children was established 25 years ago on the premise that every young person should have the opportunity to reach their potential.
“Chances for Children is about breaking down those barriers so every young person can chase their dreams with confidence.”
More than 2,225 young people have received a Chances for Children scholarship, with many recipients describing the support as life changing.
Young people from the Mildura Rural City, Swan Hill Rural City, Wentworth Shire, Balranald Shire, Gannawarra Shire, Buloke Shire, Broken Hill City, and Greater Wakool Ward local government areas are eligible to apply for Chances for Children scholarships.
Applications close on Monday 20th October 2025.
