Wine produced in Sunraysia could soon be flowing to China once again with Beijing expected to ditch additional tariffs it imposed during its spat with the Morrison Federal Government in 2021.
The two-hundred-and-twenty-percent levies had a huge impact on Australian wine makers, who supply more than a third of the Chinese market, with some producers dumping wine on the ground over the last few years because of the tariff.
The local industry copped a multi-million dollar blow when the tariff was announced, with China being the world’s second biggest wine market.
A final decision as expected as soon as this month.
