Work is expected to start in coming weeks on a new accommodation facility for those undergoing cancer treatment at Mildura’s Icon Cancer Centre.
Mildura Health Private Hospital says the contracts have been signed for the Dr. Julie Zrna Centre, the patient accommodation hub for regional people to have access to cancer care closer to home.
The hospital says the Icon Cancer Centre has also saved patients one-point-six million kilometres in travel in the last year, able to undergo treatment closer to home instead of having to go to Bendigo or Melbourne.

The centre has now been in operation for over twelve months.
