60 thousand out of pocket after collapse

Nearly 60 thousand people have been left out of pocket by the collapse of Bonza.

Close to 58 thousand customers, including many with flights booked in and out of Mildura Airport, had bookings with the company the federal court has been told, as well as staff and trade creditors who are also out of pocket.

Lawyers for administrators of the airline are asking to hold a creditors meeting in just two days.

There have also been calls for an investigation into the budget airline’s financial backers, 777 Partners, after accusations of fraud.

Services are grounded until at least next Tuesday.
