Swan Hill Rural City Council is offering scholarships for students pursuing university or tertiary studies in 2026 in fields related to Local Government.
The scholarships are open to all students including those who have already started their studies.
Council says they are especially keen to hear from students studying:

- Environmental Health
- Statutory (Town) Planners
- Civil Engineering
- Horticulture
- Risk Management
- Environmental Management
- Economic Development
- Venue Management / Theatre Technician
- Tourism / Marketing / Event Management
- Community Planning / Recreation / Project Management
- Human Resources
- Procurement
And various other fields
Benefits may include:
- $1,000 per semester scholarship funding ($2,000 per year)
- 7 weeks of paid employment during semester breaks
- Hands-on experience in a Rural Victorian Council
- Opportunities to build professional networks and practical skills
- Potential ongoing employment with Council after graduation
