139th Wentworth Show set to celebrate community, agriculture and entertainment

Wentworth’s biggest event of the year returns this month, with the 139th Wentworth Show promising two full days of entertainment, agriculture, food and family fun on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August.

This year’s program blends much-loved traditions with new experiences, offering something for every member of the community.

Show-goers can look forward to a packed entertainment schedule, including:

● Wood Chopping, presented by the South Australian Axemen’s Association and sponsored by the Coomealla Memorial Sporting Club

● A Sand Sculpture display and workshops by Sandstorm Events, sponsored by RZ Resources

● The Conargo Whipcrackers, sponsored by Lake Victoria Wind Farm

● The Furals Art & Workshop, sponsored by the Wentworth Show Society and Squadron Renewable Energy

● A Light Horse demonstration

● An appearance from Frank Finger, winner of Series 1 of Muster Dogs Show Opener:

This year’s Show will be officially opened by acclaimed songwriter, performer and music producer Josh Arnold, who brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the role.

A new addition: The Nanny Barn

Located in the Sheep & Wool Shed, The Nanny Barn will give attendees the rare opportunity to witness the birthing process of livestock live across the Show weekend.

Visitors are invited to come along and, with a little luck, witness new life arrive at the Show.
