With the warmer spring weather upon us, snakes are becoming more active across our region.
If you’re out enjoying our parks, walking tracks or spending time in the garden, it’s a good time to keep an eye out and be snake aware.
Stick to designated paths and avoid long grass.
Keep dogs on leads when exploring bushland and riverfront areas.
If you spot a snake, give it plenty of space and allow it to move away naturally.
Keep your yard tidy and clear of debris where snakes may shelter.
Snakes are an important part of our natural environment and generally prefer to avoid people.
A little awareness goes a long way towards keeping everyone safe while enjoying the beautiful spring weather!
