Sunraysia Residential Services Inc. (SRS) will officially open its newest Short-Term Accommodation (STA) home, which is being called DON, on Saturday 17 October 2026, in recognition of the extraordinary and ongoing contribution of Don Seward to the Sunraysia community.
“Don joined SRS in 2001 as a general Board member, before taking on the role of President, a position he held for 10 years,” SRS Chief Executive Officer Marian Luehman said.
“Don remains an active and valued member of the Board today, with his contribution recognised through SRS Life Membership in 2019.
“For Don, volunteering has never simply been about holding a position or having a title. It has been about showing up, getting involved, and making a difference. He has demonstrated that age is no barrier to meaningful contribution.
“He is resilient, calm and thoughtful, mixed with a good sense of humor that is expressed in a quiet sense of purpose.
“Fittingly it is those very qualities that make DON the perfect name for our new home.”
