Powercor crews have managed to restore power to a small number of customers in Mildura following a power outage caused by a car crashing into a power pole Monday morning.
2583 customers remain without power.
This follows a high voltage injection after the crash which saw high voltage powerlines make contact with low voltage powerlines.
Due to the nature of this fault, a Licensed Electrical Inspector may need to attend properties to complete safety checks.
Additional resources arrived in Mildura yesterday to assist with inspections of properties.
These included crews of Licensed Electrical Inspectors and field teams.
Impacted customers have been asked to check their switchboards and report any issues with electrical equipment or signs of damage to their contact centre on 13 24 12 as this may assist them in working through our safety checks.
As they complete safety checks, restoration will occur progressively over the coming days.
While many customers are expected to have supply restored earlier, some may remain without power until the estimated restoration time of midday Friday.
Impacted customers will be informed of any updates via SMS.
Powercor also now have their two Emergency Response Vehicles, MERV and VERA, on hand at the relief centre which has been set up at the Alfred Deakin Centre.
MERV and VERA will be providing free tea and coffee, water, snacks and phone and device charging facilities.
They will also have staff on hand to answer questions and keep residents informed.

The Mildura Relief Centre at the Alfred Deakin Centre remained open until 9:00pm last night and will re-open at 8:00am this morning, providing support including charging stations for devices, access to showers and Powercor representatives to provide updated information on the power outage.
The Mildura Sporting Precinct remained open until 8:00pm last night, providing charging stations for devices and access to showers, and will reopen at midday today.
