Several drivers caught under the influence in Murray Mallee region

Murray Mallee Police have been busy on the roads during the weekend with multiple drivers caught under the influence of drugs and alcohol, including in the Riverland area:

About 11.10am on Friday 7 August, police conducted a traffic stop on a Suzuki sedan on Old Sturt Highway, Berri for the purpose of a driver test.

The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old man from Barmera returned a positive sample for cannabis and cocaine.

He was issued an expiation notice and a three-month immediate loss of licence notice.

And about 9.35pm on Friday 7 August, police conducted a traffic stop on a Mitsubishi ute on McMillan Street, Loxton.

The driver of the vehicle, a 37-year-old man from Loxton underwent a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.088.

He was issued a six-month immediate loss of licence notice and was reported for drink-driving.

He will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
