Mildura Rural City Council have taken to social media to farewell Jillian Peterson, their Registrar and Collections Officer at Mildura Arts Centre as she begins her retirement after 24 years of service at Council.
Council says over the years, Jillian has held several roles at MAC, including cleaner, theatre usher and exhibition installer before taking on her current position, which she has held for the past 20 years.
Her knowledge of the MAC collection and local history has been invaluable, and she has played an important role in collection research, exhibition changeovers and conservation projects.
Jillian says the people she’s met and worked alongside have been the highlight of her time at Mildura Arts Centre.
A proud Merbein local, Jillian is looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren, enjoying a good book and exploring volunteer opportunities in retirement.
