Mildura’s CBD is to see roadworks, with Seventh Street closed from today, Monday 29 June, between Langtree and Lime Avenues to allow for a major reconstruction of the road.
Mildura Rural City Council says works to this section of Seventh Street include:
– Removing and replacing the existing road base
– Upgrades to drainage infrastructure
– Reconstruction of kerb and channels
– A new footpath on the riverside of Seventh Street
– Fresh asphalting
– New pram ramps to improve accessibility
– Splitter islands at the intersection to improve safety.
These works will not only ensure this busy section of Seventh Street can cater for CBD traffic and drainage for years to come, but also improve safety and accessibility.
Traffic diversions and signage will be in place, and all businesses remain open, including the V/Line bus station and access to the privately-owned car park.
