Community Feedback Sought on Active Transport and School Routes

June 3, 2026 7:16 am in by

Wentworth Shire Council has received funding from Transport for NSW to partner with Gol Gol Public School in delivering the Active Routes to School Program.

Council and school staff engaged Year 5 and 6 students in a mapping exercise during geography lessons to identify walking and cycling routes to and from school.

This project will result in the establishment of designated walking and riding routes to Gol Gol Public School, supported by an Active Travel to School map and wayfinding infrastructure, including footpath decals and directional signage.

As part of this project, Council is seeking feedback from residents of Gol Gol and Buronga, as well as parents, carers, and young people, about transport and travel within the local area.

Community feedback will assist Council to:

  • Understand current travel patterns.
  • Identify future opportunities to improve active transport infrastructure.
  • Provide data to support future funding applications and planning for active transport initiatives across the community.

Residents are encouraged to participate and share their feedback before the closing date.
