“Stop Sticks” deployed and car impounded

On Wednesday (April 29) around 9:30 pm, police received several reports of a vehicle driving at high speeds, swerving in and out of traffic and disobeying traffic lights on Deakin Avenue in Mildura.

Police reacted quickly to the calls and located the vehicle which failed to stop when police tried to intercept it.

Police were forced to use “Stop Sticks” to bring the car safely to a stop.

The driver, a 20-year-old female from the Mildura area, was arrested and the car was impounded.

She will front the Mildura Magistrates’ Court at a later date to face charges of dangerous driving whilst pursued by police amongst others.
