Wentworth Shire Council, in partnership with the Dareton Men in the Shed, has announced the upcoming Dareton Community Health Day.
Council says this free community event is dedicated to promoting the health, wellbeing, and independent aging of older adults across the region.
Taking place on Friday 10 April 2026, the day offers a hub for seniors, carers, and family members to connect with local services and gain expert advice.
Event Highlights include:
• Health & Wellness Checks: Free hearing tests and advice from Country Hearing Care, alongside podiatry services and eye health information from Oscar Wylee Optometrist.
• Expert Advice: Guidance on Aged Care Services, diabetes and sugar testing (Buronga Health One), and financial assistance regarding pensions and health cards through Centrelink.
• Safety & Independence: Demonstrations of home and garden aids, smart home safety, and road safety support for senior drivers.
• Community Connection: Information on Wentworth Library resources, Meals on Wheels, and social support projects through the Men’s Shed.
• Practical Skills: Hands-on CPR awareness demonstrations provided by Hands on Heart.
