The Mildura Truck Centre, 2026 Victorian Sidecar Championship to be held at Mildura’s Olympic Park speedway on Saturday night will be a wide-open affair as there is such a large array of talent already in consideration.
Olympic Park will play host to a fine field of sidecars, who are visiting from all over Australia, as each team plan an assault on the Australian Title to be held over the ANZAC weekend.
The format set for the State championship sees a group of twelve riders selected directly into the field by the Victorian Speedway Management Committee.
With the large field of nominees, which is more than the sixteen required for the event, the Mildura Club has asked the extra eleven nominees to participate in a pre-meeting One Lap Dash, where the fastest four teams, outside those already listed, will join to make sixteen teams for the Title.
The teams outside that four will ride, if required, as meeting Reserves, but will also take part in support races during the night.
Many Club members have spent time trying to ready the Track and Grounds for a re-scheduling of the Bradshaw Sidecar Shootout which was initially postponed after the heavy storm of Saturday 28th February for last weekend, but financial constraints for those who had already nominated for this weekend put paid to the Shootout being held prior to the State Championship this week.
Olympic Park gates will open at 5:00 pm with Tickets available at the gate.
NO BYO by law.
Rider Introduction and Dash for Cash will commence at 7:00 pm sharp.
A small Junior program will be staged before the commencement of proceedings.
