Six arrested following Mildura crime spree

Mildura Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested six teenagers following multiple incidents, including an aggravated home invasion, in Mildura last week.

It is alleged multiple offenders attended a property on Ellswood Crescent on Thursday, 15 January just before 3:00am.

The offenders allegedly tried to gain access through the windows, however they were disturbed by an occupant of the home and fled.

Detectives will allege multiple offenders attended a property on Beasy Court on 16 January about 2.25am.

The offenders allegedly attempted to open two vehicles parked in the open garage before attempting to open the front door and a window.

An occupant of the home awoke to the noise and disturbed the offenders, causing them to flee.

Shortly after, it is alleged the offenders attended a property on Walnut Avenue and gained access to a unit about 3.25am.

They allegedly stole three sets of car keys, a wallet and $1000 cash, before taking off in the victim’s Dodge RAM valued at around $130,000.

Investigators conducted extensive enquiries into the whereabouts of the offenders and subsequently located and arrested six teenagers.

Additionally, detectives will allege the offenders were involved in other theft from motor vehicle and property-related offending.

A 13-year-old boy from the Mildura area was charged with 14 offences including aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle and theft (shop steal).

A 15-year-old boy from the Mildura area was charged with aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated home invasion, home invasion and theft of motor vehicle.

A 13-year-old boy from the Mildura area was charged with attempted aggravated home invasion and bail offences.

A 15-year-old boy from the Mildura area was charged with attempted aggravated home invasion.

A 15-year-old girl from the Mildura area was cautioned for theft of motor vehicle.

A 19-year-old Mildura man was charged with four counts of theft of motor vehicle.
