Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is encouraging RSLs, community groups and not for profit organisations across the Mildura electorate to apply for two important grant programs now open, aimed at supporting veterans and preserving local war memorials.

Ms Benham said the Veterans Capital Works Grant Program provides up to $50,000 to upgrade buildings and facilities used by organisations that support veterans and their families.

“These grants are about ensuring the places where veterans gather, seek support and connect with one another are safe, accessible and fit for purpose,” Ms Benham said.

“Our veterans and their families deserve welcoming spaces that reflect the deep respect we have for their service.”

Ms Benham also highlighted the Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Program, which supports local groups to conserve and enhance war memorials, honour rolls and avenues of honour.

The memorials program offers up to $10,000 for planning and design work, with a further $30,000 available to deliver restoration projects.

Applications for both programs close on 3 February 2026.
