Wentworth Shire Council and South West NSW water users have raised their concerns about releases from the upper lakes and have urged the Murray Darling Basin Authority and Water NSW to preserve maximum water possible in Lakes Pamamaroo and Wetherell as we head towards Christmas with uncertain inflows from the northern basin.

Wentworth Shire Council Mayor Daniel Linklater met with farmers Rachel Strachan and Murray Davies in Chambers to join an online discussion with community members and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, WaterNSW, the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder and NSW DCCEEW.

Member for Murray, Helen Dalton has congratulated the community for raising their concerns.
