Experienced company accountant and former dry-land farmer Narelle Heard has been appointed Chair of the Mallee Catchment Management Authority Board.
Under the latest round of water sector Board appointments announced by Victorian Water Minister Gayle Tierney, Ms Heard will lead the Mallee CMA Board, with fellow board members including Robert Matthews, Ann Hodge, Kym McIntosh, Andrew Charles, Janice Kelly, and Ruwan Jayasinghe.
Ms Heard is a Director for Princes Court Limited, as well as an experienced Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary with nearly 12 years of board-level experience.
She has a strong background in governance, strategy, financial, audit and risk management, investment, and project management, with particular experience in the agricultural, land, water, and resource industries.
Ms Heard assumes the role of Chair from outgoing Board Chair Allison McTaggart, who served on the Mallee CMA Board for 12 years, including four years as Chair.
Also concluding their time with the Mallee CMA Board is Kellie Nulty, who served on the Board for 9 years, including as Deputy Chair since 2021; and Tony Alessi, who was appointed to the Board in 2021.
The new-look Mallee CMA Board will meet for the first time at the end of October, 2025.
