New appointments to LMW Board

The Minister for Water, the Hon. Gayle Tierney MP, has announced the appointment of three new directors to the Lower Murray Water (LMW) Board, strengthening the corporation’s governance and leadership.

Mandy Whelan, Antonio (Tony) Alessi and Marcus Horwood join the Board, bringing fresh perspectives and diverse expertise.

In addition to the new appointments, Chair Sharyon Peart and Director Kate Hughes have been reappointed, providing valuable continuity to the Board.

They will serve alongside existing directors Dr Anne Maree Boland, Adam Christou and Paul Thompson.

LMW Board Chair Sharyon Peart welcomed the new directors and congratulated those reappointed.

“On behalf of LMW, I am delighted to welcome our new Board directors and to congratulate those who have been reappointed,” Ms Peart said.

“Their knowledge, skills and experience will help us continue delivering reliable, sustainable water services to our customers and communities.

“I also extend my sincere thanks to outgoing directors Warren Lloyd, Michelle Oates and Domenic Isola for their dedication and service. Their expertise has guided the corporation through significant challenges and achievements.”

The appointments, made by the Victorian Government, reflect its commitment to strong governance and diverse expertise in water resource management, sustainability and customer service.

The new and reappointed members formally joined the Board on 1 October 2025.
