Wentworth Shire has proudly welcomed six new Australian Citizens during a special Australian Citizenship Day ceremony on Wednesday 17 September 2025, held in the Wentworth Conference Room overlooking the Darling River.
Conferees included:
– Ms Megan Jackson (United Kingdom)
– Ms Antonia Antonova (Bulgaria)
– Mr Hsi-Jung Chen (Taiwan)
– Mr Abraham Cronje (South Africa)
– Mrs Mercedita Kemp (Philippines)
– Mrs Thi Thuy Diem Sheehan (Vietnam)
Each new Citizen received a native Australian plant from Council and a 2025 Australian Citizenship Commemorative Coin.
Mayor Daniel Linklater said it was an honour to welcome the new Citizens, noting Australian Citizenship Day is a time for all Australians to reflect on and celebrate what it means to belong to this nation.
