The partial remains of a human skull have been found by a walker near Mildura.
The man, who was walking on the banks of the Murray near the Apex Riverbeach Holiday Park, discovered the skull, alerting police on Monday afternoon.
Barrier Police District Inspector Wayne Demery said that the remains were located partially buried, with early indications suggesting the remains were not historic.

The remains are now set to be sent to Newcastle to undergo a full forensic investigation.
A crime scene has been established at the site where the remains were located, with a crime scene guard in place until a full examination can take place.
