Following an extremely successful event in 2024, Mildura has seen a return of excitement for Hot Air Ballooning.
With increased activity in the skies and some of the best flying conditions in the state, Mildura has become not only a hot spot of activity for the sport, but is also hosting a Balloon Training Camp in the second week of the July school holidays.
Sarah Ellis, event organiser and balloon pilot instructor who is a regular visitor to Mildura to train and participate in hot air balloon events, has said that the region was top of mind when considering where to host the upcoming training camp.
“Mildura truly has everything we are looking for when considering where to hold a training opportunity such as this,” explains Sarah.
You can expect to see as many as 16 balloons in the air throughout the week.”
Mildura’s Balloon Training camp will be held at SuniTAFE Mildura from Sunday July 13th – Saturday July 19th 2025.
Launch and landing sites will vary depending on the weather, but the intention is for most flights to take off from the SuniTAFE grounds along Benetook Ave at approx. 7:00am and 3:00pm most days.
