A man has been refused bail after facing the Mildura Magistrates Court over alleged theft offences.

The court yesterday heard that the man was accused of attending an address in Mildura last month and stealing two sets of car keys.

The court hearing around a week later the man returned with a co-accused to steal the cars they keys belonged to.

Days later one of the cars was found parked at a retirement village, with the accused spotted leaving a nearby property and walking to the village the Herald Sun is reporting.

The man was arrested shortly after, and was allegedly found with methamphetamine, GHB, cash and bank cards belonging to other people.

The judge said he believed a charge of trafficking seemed weak due to the amount being feasibly for personal use, but said the man posed an unacceptable risk if bailed.

He’ll return to court on July 15.
