Calls are coming from prominent locals to start building a new Mildura Baseball Public Hospital.
The campaign, which is called Build the Base, being led by former Member for Mildura Ali Cupper and healthcare officer Stephen Parr.
They have called the current facility as inadequate, saying it is failing the local community.
Parr says the original hospital was too small from its construction, and was always doomed to fail.
They’ve also pointed to the introduction of a Master Plan back in 2022 and its plan to build a new hospital, or redevelop the current one.
The duo say the ground work is all in place and just needs the government to commit to the project and make a funding commitment.
The group says it will be launching a petition to the community to be tabled to parliament to show the community’s desire to see the project take place.
The duo say “We should never let high Government debt – or any other external factor – stop us from fighting for our interests.”
