Riverland weekend traffic offences

Murray Mallee Police detected several traffic offences over the Kings Birthday Long weekend including the following traffic offences in the Riverland.

Just before 7.30pm on Friday 6 June, police stopped a white Nissan station wagon on Bookpurnong Terrace, Loxton, for a random driver test.  

Checks revealed the driver, a 39-year-old man from Loxton, was suspended from driving.

He was reported for this offence and he will be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.  His vehicle was also impounded for 28 days.

And just after 11:00pm on Friday 6 June, Loxton police stopped a black Jeep SUV on William Street at Loxton for a random driver test.  

The driver, a 39-year-old local man tested positive for methamphetamine.   

He was issued a three-month loss of licence and he may be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date pending forensic analysis of his drug sample.
