Just after 1:00pm Friday 2 May, patrols were called to Lexia Street, Berri after reports a man was slumped over the steering wheel of his car. Police spoke with the man who underwent a breath test, returning a positive result of 0.319. The driver, a 47-year-old man from Paringa was arrested and granted bail to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on 7 July. He was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence.
About 5.30pm Saturday 3 May, police stopped a Mitsubishi sedan on Bahnisch Avenue, Berri and spoke with the driver. Checks on the driver’s licence showed that it was disqualified. The driver, a 25-year-old man from Berri was reported for driving while disqualified and will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates court at a later date.
Just before 5pm Saturday 3 May, traffic patrols stopped a pit bike on Patey Drive, Renmark and spoke with the rider. Checks on his licence showed that he was disqualified from riding. The rider underwent a drug test which allegedly returned a positive result. The rider, a 38-year-old man from Renmark was reported for driving while disqualified and will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates court at a later date. He had his motorbike impounded for 28 days and may face further charges pending forensic analysis of his oral fluid.
Just before 8am Sunday 4 May, highway patrols stopped a Ford ute on Renmark Avenue, Renmark after detecting the driver speeding at 102km/h in a 90km/h speed zone. The driver underwent a drug test which allegedly returned a positive result. The man, a 24-year-old from Renmark was issued an expiation notice for speeding and may face further charges pending forensic analysis of his oral fluid.
