Mildura Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Unit detectives arrested a man following an aggravated burglary in Mildura yesterday morning.
It is believed an unknown offender broke into a property on the corner of Eleventh Street and Benetook Avenue, about 5am.
The offender then confronted the female resident and physically assaulted her.
She managed to escape the man and ran out into the street calling for help.
The 50-year-old woman sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
Detectives arrested a 25-year-old man in Mildura yesterday afternoon and he is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
