Buyback Fightback comes to Sunraysia

The Victorian Nationals Buyback Fightback Tour has been in Mildura, talking to locals about the Federal Government’s proposed water buybacks as part of its amended Murray Darling Basin Plan.

Mildura MP Jade Benham says they’ve spoken to producers and stakeholders on the impacts already felt across Victorian communities.

The Member for Mildura was joined by fellow Victorian Nationals Emma Kealy and Tim McCurdy yesterday, with two meetings held, one in Mildura and the other in Robinvale, with the local member saying Victoria has delivered more than its share to the basin plan.

Benham says valuable water is being flushed down the Murray and into the ocean which will have a devastating impact on farming communities.
