Mildura Police are expecting residents to brush off the old pushbike and start riding to work, the shops or even just down the riverfront with the summer weather, but they say whilst it is pretty safe here, bikes can somehow magically disappear when you leave them unlocked and out of sight.
They are encouraging people to lock up your bike, and use a good quality D lock, secure your bike in a well-lit area, register to use Parkiteer secure bike parking and record the bike’s make, model and serial number.
They are also asking locals to consider registering with Bike Vault and if your bike is missing you can check if police have found it.
