Locals urge to call 000 in the event of a snake bite

Locals are being urged to call Triple Zero Immediately if they suspect they, or anyone they know, have been bitten by a snake.

Ambulance Victoria has put the call out following a suspected fatal snake bite in Nullawil near Wycheproof last month.

The emergency service says there’s an influx of people to the Loddon Mallee in the warmer months, whether its seasonal workers or tourists.

It says there’s a high danger of snakes in areas like farms and campgrounds, and people are being urged to be vigilant.
