Water releases from Menindee Lakes will be managed over summer.
The Murray Darling Basin Authority says it’s a looking at a refined approach to maintain water in the upper lakes while also meeting demands in the Murray River.
The water authority says the approach is to adjust flows in response to weather projections, system demands and forecasts.

Menindee Lakes, with a capacity of 1,731GL currently sit at 76% capacity.
