Both the Mildura and Wentworth racing clubs have declared Melbourne Cup Day a success.
After years of cancellations due to COVID and last year’s floods, punters and fashionistas took advantage of the weather to enjoy a day out.
Fashions on the field proved popular at both courses.

It was a second win for trainer Paula Trenwith who won the Mallee Cup with Keyseri. Karadoc Kid won the Mallee Cup for Trenwith in 2017.
Meantime, Augusta Rock took out the Wentworth Cup yesterday afternoon, owned by a couple of mates who decided to buy a horse one day at a pub.
