Mildura has recorded a drop in the amount of money being lost on poker machines.
Figures show two-point-nine million dollars was spent on the pokies in the region during September, compared to three-point-four-million dollars in August.
Swan Hill residents also spent slightly less on the machines, down thirty-thousand dollars month on month.
As a comparison, Bendigo residents spent$4.8 million in September compared to $5.2million in August and Ballarat residents spent $5.2 million in September compared to $5.6 million in August.
Cost of living is being listed as a possible factor to the downturn in spending.
