Transport safety, supporting injured workers and dealing with drugs and alcohol in the workplace are on the agenda when WorkSafe visits Mildura for Health and Safety Month.
WorkSafe will be at Mildura Sporting Precinct on Monday 9 October as part of its tour around the state promoting safe and healthy workplaces.
Breakfast and lunch will bookend the free event that aims to shine a spotlight on the responsibilities of duty holders and drivers within the transport industry.
A knowledgeable panel of industry experts and farmers will share their experiences and answer any questions from the audience.
A return-to-work inspector will be present to speak about the process of getting back to work after an injury, common challenges and solutions along the way, and the support available for injured workers.
Participants will be informed of current drug and alcohol policies and receive practical advice on the development, consultation, and workforce involvement and implementation steps behind creating a policy.
The state-wide roadshow will be followed by week-long series of webinars towards the end of October.
