Soaring petrol prices have contributed to a spike in Australia’s inflation rate.
Latest figures from the Bureau of Statistics show inflation has climbed by 5.2% for the year to August, an increase on the July reading.
It comes as many servos in Mildura are starting to raise prices to above two dollars a litre with those prices set to climb higher heading into the long weekend and end of school holidays in Victoria.
