Wentworth Shire Council says its levee banks have been checked by SES crews.
They have assured the council of the structural integrity of the levee bank in protecting the town of floodwaters. The levee bank crest is approximately 1.4 metres higher than the projected maximum flood level.
While filtered water’s showing odour and discolouration, the shire says it remains compliant with national drinking water guidelines. The issue is expected to remain for some time.
Sewer systems in all towns are working as per normal, no issues have been identified.
There is no need for concern around sewer back-flush.
