Locals in and around Wentworth Shire are again being assured their drinking water is still up to standard despite the mass fish death event around Menindee. It says bore water has also not been affected although it's reminding locals that dams, rivers and creeks should not be used for drinking or cooking without proper treatment. The incident's attracted global TV coverage but the Shire says water quality has NOT been impacted.
