We’re being reminded to be aware over spring of swooping magpies and plovers.
There’s been one reported incident of a magpie in Mildura this month, two weeks ago on Tenth Street by a magpie.
Victorian authorities say the birds will swoop in areas including parks, gardens and bike tracks where they’re nesting.

While it’s a warning to people, authorities say the birds rarely make contact.
Authorities says the birds are defending their nests and young from perceived predators, and it should only last a few weeks.
