Local veterans and families are being reminded about a special Commemorative Medallion to mark 50 years since Australia ended its involvement in the Vietnam War.
Today is Vietnam Veterans’ Day which will recognise the 60,000 Australians who served, of which over 500 lost their lives.
Former Governor-General and Vietnam Veteran Sir Peter Cosgrove says it’s important to remember and honour local veterans who served.
A service will be held at the Seventh Street Memorial from 12:30pm today, followed by a lunch at the Mildura RSL.
This evening the Wentworth Military Collection is inviting Veterans, Residents and Visitors to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Service at the going down of the sun at 6:30pm 18 August 2023.
Floral tributes are welcome from organisations to be laid at that service.
